Awesome 19th c French Baccarat (unsigned) cut crystal/glass box with mounted bronze ormolu trim. It is a large and heavy box measuring about 7.25" wide 6 5/8" tall x 5.5" deep and nearly 9 lbs!
This is from the La Costa, CA estate of the first Mrs. Herb Alpert. She had an amazing home and was a happy shopper and entertainer. This sat on a large antique silver plated table in the entry way of her 1500 sq ft mansion.
Condition: has minor chipping looks like the lid was reattached to the bronze frame using glue (originally they would use plaster). There is some possible grinding loss to cut points and scarring around the lock as you can see. There is no key and the lid sometimes takes a little wiggling before it opens. It displays beautifully and comes from a record mogul family that brought us THE CARPENTERS!
